Brokerage Logistics Coordinator
The Brokerage Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing a high volume of outbound shipment activities, while managing costs and performance. The role is responsible for scheduling shipments with our customers, ensuring all the documentation for these shipments are complete and accurate, controlling cost of these shipments, and compiling certain shipping and receiving reports for upper management. This position works directly on-site at the client’s facility to maintain the flow of goods shipping out of the plant, ensuring that both internal and external customer demands are fulfilled timely, compliantly, and completely according to standard processes and client deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Route and track all FTL outbound cargo in accordance with customer requirements, Load measurements and DOT requirements.
- Communicate with shippers, brokers, customers, etc. as needed to facilitate the routing process and minimize the risk of issues and delays.
- Request transportation rates and coordinate load planning with approved carriers.
- Support issue resolution related to transportation delays, missing documentation, or scheduling conflicts.
- Coordinate and support export documentation filing and processing as needed, such as for certificates of origin, customs invoices, and packing lists.
- Coordinate outbound shipment planning, scheduling, and execution to meet customer delivery requirements
- Prepare and distribute customer shipping notifications and required documentation.
- Send pre-alerts with all customs documents to the customer, client’s Customer Service Representative and/or Accounting as needed.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange to pick up of goods or to arrange other shipping instructions. Verify that all shipments scheduled for pickup have left the facility; report discrepancies.
- Monitor inbound shipment status and follow up on proof of delivery and receipt documentation.
- Support weekly and monthly logistics forecasting activities for inbound and outbound volumes
- Prepare and distribute logistics-related reports to support operational planning and decision-making.
- Maintains effective working relationships with peer departments, service providers and customers
- Comply with agreed-upon document retention procedures.
- Actively look for and capture savings and added value opportunities when possible.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- 2+ years relevant work experience in an operational or customer-centric function within a logistics or 3PL environment required.
