Driver Development Supervisor
The Driver Development Supervisor is responsible for the facilitation of the orientation program for professional driving team members of specific business segments. This role ensures all drivers are treated fairly; and have acquired the skills needed to graduate from orientation. This role will work closely with a multitude of departments.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for making sure the orientation program is efficient and effectively ran each day
- Work directly with safety to execute the quick and safe onboarding of drivers
- Lead and coach all orientation instructors
- Be able to step in the role and fill in as an instructor/coordinator at any given time
- Work with dorm contractors and staff to ensure driver accommodations are adequate
- Independently manage time and resources to meet specified performance standards.
- Complete required daily, weekly, monthly reports as required.
- Directly responsible for ensuring orientation is being run in a positive and professional manner.
- Stay abreast of current policies and procedures to ensure up to date knowledge and training procedures.
- Travel to Huntsville, AR or other terminals as needed throughout the year ensuring orientation is being run in accordance with Covenant’s Policies & Procedures
- May be responsible for facilitating Covenant’s Train the Trainer program
- This role is directly accountable for training of new professional drivers on policies and procedures as well as instruction on hazardous materials, FMCS regulations, and coordinating skills testing, and DOT physicals and drug tests with local medical providers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other web-based applications.
- Excellent communication skills, writing, verbally, and electronically.
- Ability to Multitask in a high-volume environment.
- Must be a team player and a “people person” who can remain calm and optimistic in a high-volume, pressured environment.
- Must have excellent public speaking skills.
- Must be highly organized with paperwork and data and be accountable for results.
Education/Experience
- Two-year college degree or equal experience developing presentations and public speaking, reporting or documenting production and growth.
- Must have experience leading team members/coaching/mentoring, etc.
- Must have experience in the transportation industry

- Pay Range: $49,657.00-$77,924.00
- Pay Grade: 8
