Manager, Brokerage Key Accounts

The Manager, Brokerage Key Accounts is responsible for the growth, retention, and overall satisfaction of assigned strategic customers. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the customer and Star, ensuring a seamless and unified customer experience. The role will work cross-functionally to align Covenant’s assets, brokerage, and dedicated resources to deliver the most effective solutions for each customer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily communication with cross-functional groups to gain comprehensive understanding of all activities and matters of importance.
  • Coach and develop team members on daily tasks, activities, and responsibilities to drive the success of the team
  • Assist in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures for dedicated accounts.
  • ⁠Manage customer onboarding process and assignment of new accounts to specific teams to ensure a smooth integration into the Company’s portfolio.
  • Monitor individual performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Review and identify growth opportunities within accounts with seat level employees
  • Work with the Pricing team to review and expand business opportunities.
  • Ensure successful execution of Pickup/Delivery service standards.
  • Oversee customer acceptance or rejection of quotes and manage exceptions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for resolving customer issues and escalations.
  • Develop and manage corrective action plans for internal performance issues.
  • Ensure smooth transition between daytime and extended-coverage teams on a daily basis.
  • Gather necessary information for shipment claims and ensure proper filing.
  • Communicate task assignments, performance metrics, and company objectives to internal teams.
  • Communicate Team Performance & Metrics to internal teams
  • Provide market and industry insights to direct reports to enhance strategic decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems 
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to secure advantageous rates.
  • Excellent communication skills across phone, email, and online platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of truckload shipping market dynamics is a plus

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain or similar field required. 1 year of equivalent experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
  • 5+ years experience in customer relationship management or related field required in a logistics setting required.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

  • Expected Pay Range: $67,931.21-$77,271.75
  • Full Pay Range: $67,931.21-$106,599.74
  • Pay Grade: 10
