Assistant Parts Manager
Assist General Parts Manager in the day-today operation of the Chattanooga parts department.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing daily cycle count of inventory from assigned areas of responsibility.
- Issue Purchase Orders for special ordered items.
- Responsible for notifying manager when an inventory discrepancy is identified.
- Responsible for ensuring stock is put in assigned bin once received.
- Responsible for ensuring parts counter is being attended to by available Parts Clerks.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing daily parts room operations to ensure maximum productivity.
- Responsible for monitoring back orders and following up with vendors to ensure prompt delivery while notifying GPM if there will be an extended delay.
- Responsible for confirming special ordered items are charged out to the proper RO.
- Be able to correctly identify parts and have working knowledge of VRMS system.
- Keep work area clean, neat and organized.
- Be able to operate a fork truck in a safe manner after obtaining a forklift license thru company’s program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must Have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must maintain a professional working environment with professional drivers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in a parts department setting required.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
- Expected Pay Range: $56,147.00-$64,161.90
- Full Pay Range: $56,147.00-$88,833.00
- Pay Grade: 9
