Supervisor, Risk & Safety Analytics
The Supervisor, Risk & Safety Analytics is responsible for leading the reporting, analytics, process improvement, and administrative infrastructure supporting the organization’s Risk, and Safety functions. This role oversees the development and delivery of recurring and ad hoc reporting, dashboard creation, analysis, data validation, system and workflow integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational performance, compliance, and strategic decision-making. This position serves as a working supervisor who provides day-to-day oversight of team members performing safety analytics, risk reporting, and special projects, while also partnering with leadership, Accounting/Finance, IT, and other cross-functional stakeholders to improve scalability, automation, and data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day work of team members responsible for safety analytics, risk reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prioritize workloads, assign projects, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely completion of recurring reports, dashboards, reconciliations, and special projects.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members while building cross-training and succession planning across critical reporting systems and workflows.
- Establish clear expectations for analytical quality, data accuracy, documentation, responsiveness, and partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the development, validation, and delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports across Safety, Risk, and related functions.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insight to department leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Analyze trends related to accidents, claims, citations, financial development, and other risk-related exposures to support decision-making and early identification of issues.
- Translate detailed data findings into clear summaries, recommendations, and next steps for leaders and business partners.
- Oversee core risk reporting processes, quarter-end reporting, reserve and claims activity analysis, and financial reconciliation support.
- Ensure safety and risk data is collected, validated, and maintained accurately across systems, workflows, and reporting platforms.
- Maintain strong internal controls that support data consistency, documentation, reporting accuracy, and effective workflow integration.
- Coordinate with IT, operational teams, and external vendors to improve system integration, reporting accuracy, and automation
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that increase scalability, efficiency, automation, and clarity within Risk and Safety support functions.
- Investigate current workflows and develop sustainable processes, documentation, and handoff procedures that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Support leadership, committees, and executive stakeholders with recurring reporting packages, special analyses, and project updates.
- Identify emerging exposures, reporting gaps, and operational trends, and escalate concerns with practical recommendations for action.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate issues at both a detailed and enterprise level, identify root causes, and make sound recommendations.
- Ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain trends, issues, and process requirements to leaders and cross-functional business partners.
- Strong working knowledge of reporting tools and business applications such as Excel, Power BI, DOMO, Clearsight, and other risk/safety management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build controls around data quality, reporting accuracy, and workflow consistency.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and lead others through change, process redesign, and competing priorities.
- Knowledge of transportation, safety, risk management, insurance, and relevant regulatory frameworks preferred.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Insurance, or a related discipline required. One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for every year of education required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, safety analytics, financial/reporting analysis, transportation, or a related field
- Prior leadership, project leadership, or functional oversight experience preferred.
- Transportation industry experience strongly preferred.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
- Expected Pay Range: $49,657.32-$56,492.80
- Full Pay Range: $49,657.32-$77,923.79
- Pay Grade: 8
