Senior Human Resource Generalist
In addition to the management of day-to-day HR Duties at a professional level for multiple business units, the Senior Human Resource Generalist will work closely with Senior Management of the assigned business units to align the HR strategies with the business goals and objectives. The Senior HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support while also acting as a resource for managers, team members, and peers. The Senior HR Generalist performs a broad range of HR responsibilities in partnership with the HR Business Partners and Senior Leaders to ensure compliance, drive performance and foster a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior level support and guidance to team members and management on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
- Collaborate with senior management and HR Manager/Business Partner to align HR Strategies with business goals.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager/BP as needed on strategic HR initiatives (Performance Management, Compliance, Communication, etc.)
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide reports to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
- Establishes themselves as a peer leader among other members of the HR team, providing mentorship, guidance, and assistance when needed.
- Serves as an escalation point for more complex employment issues.
- Manages leave of absence administration for assigned business units and collaborate closely with leadership and third-party vendor to manage FMLA/LOA requests.
- Actively engages team members and leaders in the interactive process with regard to requests for accommodation.
- Conduct effective, non-biased and thorough investigations by partnering with HR Manager. Ensures all investigations receive prompt resolution.
- Keep management and assigned business units apprised of internal and external HR developments that may impact overall effectiveness
- Conduct training and education for new leaders (new hires and new promotions).
- May assist with the planning and execution of team member engagement activities and programs.
- Manage unemployment claims: providing a timely response to claims filed and management of unemployment hearings.
- Recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Collaborate with HR Management and other departments to monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up to date team member records.
- Leads assigned special projects for the HR Department.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business administration, or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resource Generalist level experience required.
- Professional Human Resource (PHR), Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
- Experience with multi-state environment preferred; Logistics/Trucking Industry experience a plus.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
- Expected Pay Range: $52,270.86-$59,458.10
- Full Pay Range: $52,270.86-$82,025.04
- Pay Grade: 8
