Material Handler III
The purpose of the Material Handler position is to move goods from point to point by way of a forklift or other types of lifts within the warehouse or distribution center in order to supply production areas with product or remove finished goods from work areas in order to maintain continual operation and productivity standards for the facility. The purpose of the level three Material Handler is to assist with the training of new or progressing employees within the Material Handler role.
Responsibilities
- Train new and existing employees. Retrain employees when required, such as when regulations or requirements are updated
- Ensure all training is performed in compliance with company policies and employment laws and regulations
- Conducts operator training on various material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift (sit down and stand up), pallet jack, combi lift, scissor lift
- Conduct “on the job” observations and evaluations
- Promote safety awareness and compliance throughout the company
- Adhere to all equipment safety policies and procedures when operating the lift
- Stack freight in a methodical and organized manner according to set safety and quality standards
- Plan the efficient movement of freight in timely manner based on layout and volume for assigned work
- Inspecting and operating forklift equipment
- Performs tasks associated with moving goods from point to point
- Supply production areas with product or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area
- Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate issues.
- Sort and process materials as designated
- Pack and fill boxes or pallets in an organized manner according to weight restrictions
- Record, document, and file materials as directed to maintain organization and inventory accuracy
- Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Maintain baseline productivity goals daily
- Provide timely feedback to management on fulfillment issues, inventory discrepancies, or safety issues.
- Operating an RF device

- Assist with Inventory Control team as needed
- Quality Compliance
- 5S – Standards and Housekeeping
- Cross-training on other warehouse job functions as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to successfully complete the Covenant Train the Trainer program
- Ability to engage a variety of audiences during training sessions
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and forklift operations to ensure technical accuracy of training materials and practical application.
- Ability to complete forklift training provided by the industry with annual updates and retraining
- Ability to perform work in a highly organized and color-coded environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work without supervision
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read labels and numbers
- Ability to operate in high speed and fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor
- Excellent organization skills
- Knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office Software
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- 3 to 5 years of warehouse experience, required
- 3 to 5 years of forklift operation experience, required
- Experience in training and instruction in a manufacturing/industrial environment, a plus
- Leadership experience, a plus
- WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) or RF Unit system experience, a plus
