Field Recruiter

Remote - Remote, TN

Recruits, screens and pre-qualifies recruits for over the road team truck driver job openings, focused on recent driving school graduates or applicants for CDL training. Responsible for presenting to and assisting with bringing in qualified individuals into the organization to fill open, posted positions with the goal of long driver retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee will be required to give a weekly recap of previous weeks activity based around presentations, visits or drive bys, students per class, apps per week, hires per week, and new school activity.
  • Visit truck driving schools and make presentations with the intent to hire qualified graduate students
  • Participate with the schools in job fairs, truck shows, and advertising.
  • Maintain and submit weekly expense reports and is responsible for keeping up with personal expense report according to Covenant’s policies.
  • Properly maintain company’s equipment maintain a professional and safe behavior – reporting mileage monthly and mechanical issues immediately.
  • Must be professional in conduct and dress while representing Covenant, while in the classroom or on the road traveling from location to location.

Requirements:

  • A high level of computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel is required (and will be tested); web-based databases and programs, email, etc. is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, writing, verbally, and electronically.
  • Transportation industry experience, and/or a working knowledge of DOT regulations, is a plus.
  • Must have a friendly, clear phone voice; be a team player and a “people person” who can remain calm and optimistic in a high-volume, pressured environment.
  • Must have skills in persuasion and/or selling.
  • Must be highly organized with paperwork and data and be accountable for results.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record that can be verified at prior jobs.
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak Spanish a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.

Pay Range: $49,657.32-$77,923.79

Pay Grade: 8
