Carrier Sales Manager

Chattanooga, TN

As a Carrier Sales Manager, you are responsible for managing the day-to-day book of business for your team. The Carrier Sales Manager must provide carrier procurement and transportation solutions across multiple modes, improve profitability, and provide a high level of customer service. This individual will also develop and foster strategic relationships with an extensive carrier base, as well as coach and provide direction for the Carrier Sales Team. Carrier Sales Manager will work daily with CSRs. At Covenant Transport Solutions, we are committed to servicing our customers and exceeding expectations. Responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop all assigned personnel to enable consistently high levels of performance results.
  • Direct and manage the development of structured and disciplined business processes to facilitate consistent high levels of performance (on time service, customer service, responsiveness, capacity coverage, carrier performance, etc.).
  • Ensure appropriate and adequate technology training to new hires and current personnel to optimize productivity levels and performance results.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback on a regular basis and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Proactively and regularly reach out to all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure satisfaction with Solutions performance and/or to address performance issues.
  • Maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders (internal and external) to help facilitate long term success for all parties.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure that monthly operations budget targets are consistently being met.
  • Be available to help resolve issues or address critical business situations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. One year of equivalent work experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • 3+ years’ experience in brokerage preferred.
  • 1+ years management experience required.

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory. 

Pay Range: $31.03-$48.69

Pay Grade: 10
