Extended Coverage Operations Manager (Weekend Shift)
Directly manage the work of operations team members with authority to take actions and/or make recommendations, often requiring the exercising of discretion and independent judgment with respect to significant business matters. Coach and teach staff objective rules and policies while teaching soft skills, assisting in difficult situations, gathering data for executive
management, and managing staffing time off/coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor, measure, and develop disciplinary action when needed for Extended Coverage Driver Managers, Account Managers, and Load Planners.
- Assist in resolving driver issues.
- Direct workflow among Extended Coverage Driver Managers, Account Managers, and Load Planners.
- Perform administrative duties associated with Extended Coverage Staff.
- Monitor compliance regarding policies and procedures within Extended Coverage Staff.
- Communicate areas for improvement with Directors of Operations promptly.
- Network with other departments to ensure quick resolutions to issues that span departments.
- Create and upkeep policies and training materials.
- Manage multiple companies after hours (Landair, Expedited & AAT) & multiple depts within these companies.
- Trained in Landair & Expedited systems.
- Assist with travel bookings for hotel/lyft/buses.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide innovative solutions with process improvement
- Strong project management skills; ability to lead projects and influence others to obtain buy-in.
- Strong internal and external customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of DOT requirements.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong ability to work in a rapid and complex changing work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- 3+ experience in the transportation industry required.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.

The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $56,146.95-$88,833.12
Pay Grade: 9
