Shop Lead-2nd Shift

Huntsville, AR

The Shop Lead is responsible for performing repairs on class 8 equipment while supporting Shop Foreman in essential shop administration. 

Responsibilities

While working as a Shop Lead:

  • Perform repairs to equipment as assigned.
  • Inspect equipment during the repair process to identify any needed additional repairs.
  • Notify Shop Foreman of any found additional needed repairs.
  • Monitor equipment repairs as they’re being made to ensure best practices are being followed and repairs are progressing in a timely manner.
  • Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to understand, communicate, read, and write the English language.
  • Must have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and 100 lbs. on a frequent basis to mount tires.
  • Must have physical ability to climb, bend and squat.
  • Must have physical ability to stand for long periods of time. 
  • Must have tools to perform skills for this level
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have a basic understanding of Diagnostic Software Platforms

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
  • 3 years of Class 8 tractor/trailer repair experience

Competitive Compensation

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory. 

Pay Range: $23.87-$37.46

Pay Grade: 8
