Fleet Equipment Manager

Huntsville, AR

Management of all company trailer equipment. Seat trucks and have direct communication with the company’s professional drivers, driver managers, and shops. Communicate with the company’s professional driver and answer all questions regarding equipment. Seat drivers in the best fit based on their needs and domicile and enter drivers in the system accurately and in a timely manner.  

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all Company Equipment (Trailers, fleet vehicles)
  • Track unmanned trucks and insure they are spotted correctly
  • Update expirations on trade equipment
  • Run and distribute reporting daily for visibility of equipment usage.
  • Strategically assign equipment based on equipment plan and fleet need.
  • Communicate and Interact with Professional Drivers on a Daily basics
  • Coordinate with other divisions on Equipment issues and reporting procedures
  • Accurately update TMW, Innovative, File Maintenance, Omni Tracs
  • Responsible for assigning drivers to unseated trucks broke down in the shop OTR, or at one of our Terminals when repaired.
  • Ensure all Trucks abandon over the road are accounted for and recovered in a timely manner
  • Work effectively with others and Management
  • Assign professional drivers from orientation to driver managers in file maintenance
  • Coordinate with ops to ensure on time trade equipment turn in.
  • Ensure trucks are in correct division and fleet
  • Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
