Shop Lead
The Shop Lead is responsible for performing repairs on class 8 equipment while supporting Shop Foreman is essential shop administration.
Responsibilities
While working as a mechanic:
- Perform repairs to equipment as assigned.
- Inspect equipment during the repair process to identify any needed additional repairs.
- Notify service writer of any found additional needed repairs.
While working as a foreman:
- Monitor equipment repairs as they’re being made to ensure best practices are being followed and repairs are progressing in a timely manner.
- Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed.
- Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to understand, communicate, read, and write the English language.
- Must have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and 95 lbs. on a frequent basis to mount tires.
- Must have physical ability to climb, bend and stoop.
- Must have physical ability to work while on feet at all times, ability to stand for long periods of time. Must have tools to perform skills for this level
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
