Shop Lead

Huntsville, AR

The Shop Lead is responsible for performing repairs on class 8 equipment while supporting Shop Foreman is essential shop administration. 

Responsibilities
While working as a mechanic:

  • Perform repairs to equipment as assigned.
  • Inspect equipment during the repair process to identify any needed additional repairs.
  • Notify service writer of any found additional needed repairs.

While working as a foreman:

  • Monitor equipment repairs as they’re being made to ensure best practices are being followed and repairs are progressing in a timely manner. 
  • ⁠Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to understand, communicate, read, and write the English language.
  • Must have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and 95 lbs. on a frequent basis to mount tires.
  • Must have physical ability to climb, bend and stoop.
  • Must have physical ability to work while on feet at all times, ability to stand for long periods of time.  Must have tools to perform skills for this level

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

  • Pay Range: $23.87-$37.46
  • Pay Grade: 8

  • Lead: $2.00
  • CDL: $2.00
  • Foreman: $2.00
  • Shift Differential Nights: $1.50
  • Shift Differential Weekends: $2.00
  • Mobile Shift Differential: $3.00
