Director, Maintenance
The Maintenance Director oversees the management of the maintenance department, implementing maintenance policies that will increase the company’s efficiency. The Maintenance Director establishes overall goals, policies, and procedures, and implements programs to ensure meeting OSHA requirements and achieving compliance with the industry’s standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all maintenance employees including time and attendance, compensation reviews, employee engagement evaluations, technical troubleshooting issues, and delegating where applicable. Oversee and manage facility maintenance in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Retains client-based rapport with multiple venders and distributions contacts.
- Integral role in bidding and negotiating repair costs for optimal budgeting.
- Record and monitor all company dealer sponsored fleet warranty programs.
- Enforces all company policies and procedures are followed on all levels of the maintenance hierarchy.
- Active role on the Arkansas Trucking Association Maintenance Technology Council, on-site Safety Committee, and serve on local school maintenance technology committees.
- Reviews and enforces all safety compliance standards throughout the maintenance department by ensuring OSHA requirements are satisfied and designated PPE is utilized.
- Tracks and monitors department policies to lower long term CSA maintenance scores.
- Evaluates damaged property and equipment to determine associated risks and liability with the industry standards.
- Assist in accident investigations to minimize liability risks where applicable and organize service, transportation, repairs, and removals.
- Monitor internal asset billing for all entities by division regarding purchasing, negotiating, and damage repair to assess accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Reviews all procurement, inventory stock, and distribution of parts and equipment throughout all facilities.
- Conduct DOT and non-DOT Breath Alcohol tests as needed.
- Review Video Event Recorders in truck to utilize equipment performance when accident is reported.
- Conduct new hire interviews for maintenance employees.
- Active damage management roles include hauling or operating equipment, correct disposal procedures for waste, dispatching wrecker operators, and containment of exposed area.
- Operate active loads or assist in vehicle repairs when required.
- Maintain a maintenance software program as a key operator for tracking inventory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA compliance
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Ability to set and achieve long-term goals for the business's overall success.
- Strong Organizational skills
- Strong Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Expert knowledge of diesel mechanic services
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, management sciences, business management, or related field.
- Certified maintenance management experience preferred.
- 5 or more years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of CMMS software, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and architectural systems

- Pay Range: $92,003.00-$153,509.00
- Pay Grade: 13
