Gate Clerk
The Gate Clerk is the first and last point of contact for inbound and outbound loads at a customer facility. This position may work a rotating shift.
Responsibilities:
- Process Inbound and Outbound loads.
- Checking in and maintaining security with outside careers
- Performing yard audits as needed
- Keep accurate record of all inbound and outbound trailers.
- Check seals and numbers on all inbound and outbound trails.
- Security-adjacent tasks such as gate management and perimeter reporting
- Prioritize and process both Inbound and Outbound paperwork and BOLs (Bill of Lading)
- Assist in maintaining consistent flow of freight for timely outbound/inbound processing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The ability to work in a fast paced and always changing environment.
- Ability to Multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to compile and record data in an efficient and accurate manner
- Have knowledge of customer and company requirements regarding shipping and receiving
Education/Experience
- High school Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in an administrative capacity preferred
- 2+ Years Customer Service Experience preferred.
- HighJump WMs experience is preferred but not required.
- Transportation or warehouse experience preferred.
