Onboarding Specialist
The Onboarding Specialist is a key driver of the new hire experience, partnering across the enterprise to deliver a people-first onboarding journey rooted in servanthood, empathy, and virtue, ensuring new team members and hiring leaders feel supported, informed, and set up for success from day one.
Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute offer letters
- Process, track, and maintain new hire documentation, including background checks, employment verifications, drug screens, and required onboarding paperwork.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates by responding to questions and providing guidance throughout the offer and onboarding process.
- Partner with hiring leaders to address questions or issues related to offers and onboarding requirements, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain and update onboarding status tracking tools to ensure accurate, real-time visibility of candidate progress.
- Identify opportunities to enhance onboarding processes and improve the overall candidate experience through continuous feedback and collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong internal and external customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong Excel skills are a plus.
- Prior ATS experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment and communicate/work well with others.
- General knowledge of Talent Acquisition and/or Human Resources best practices and processes.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma required.
- 1 year of customer service experience in a high volume fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Experience with multi-state environment preferred
- Logistics/Trucking Industry experience a plus
- Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
