Operations Reporting Analyst
This role is responsible for turning operational data into actionable insights that support decision making. The position analyzes trends, identifies performance drivers, and makes data-backed recommendations to improve business results. This role will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the profitability and productivity of the business unit.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across business units.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort through automation using various platforms including DOMO and Power Automate.
- Partner with business unit leaders to define reporting requirements and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
- Prepare reporting packages for business units, including Brokerage, Dedicated Operations, and Highway Services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve decisions based on reporting output.
- Conduct audit checks before publishing reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Preserve data integrity by monitoring dataset performance in DOMO and performing data quality checks across reporting platforms.
- Research root causes of data discrepancies and work with IT, Backoffice, or business users to correct issues.
- Maintain documentation on data transformations, field definitions, and dataset logic.
- Analyze and calculate incentive compensation, ensure accuracy through review and approval processes, and deliver finalized results to payroll.
- Provide clear documentation and communication of findings.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when working with financial or operational data.
- Help automate manual reporting workflows through DOMO Magic ETL, SQL scripts, or standardized templates.
- Improve efficiency and reliability of recurring reporting and analytical workflows.
- Support automation initiatives by generating triggers and providing scheduled reports for process flows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of revenue, margin, and cost drivers.
- High attention to detail while maintaining a broader, outcome-focused analytical perspective.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment and communicate/work well with others.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or internal technology required. One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- 1 + years of Logistics or IT experience required.
- DOMO Magic experience preferred.
- SQL and Python experience preferred.
