TMS Technical Support Specialist

Greeneville, TN

This position exists to maintain daily system performance and system requirements by serving as a highly specialized technical support resource for brokerage operations. The role ensures the reliability and optimization of critical platforms and connectivity of systems—while supporting planning, data outputs, thorough advanced troubleshooting, system governance, and product ownership. Additionally, this position drives process and technological efficiencies by configuring, testing, and implementing system enhancements, automation, and reporting solutions that improve operational performance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • ⁠Serve as a highly specialized technical support resource for brokerage operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot full API pricing integrations for all LTL carriers.
  • Own and support the LTL portal, which requires significant manual product-side configuration and ongoing system legwork.
  • Manage login permissions, access rights, and system credentials.
  • Identify, document, and resolve system bugs within the LTL portal and related applications.
  • Execute solution designs for new customers, ensuring system logic aligns with operational agreements and business requirements.
  • Build and maintain EDI and API connections beyond pricing, supporting broader operational workflows.
  • ⁠Produce and manage data outputs for reporting and further analysis, supporting operational and optimization initiatives.
  • Execute technical solutions by coding or configuring system-level improvements to drive customer efficiency.
  • Maintain product and vendor ownership, acting as the primary technical liaison for system functionality and enhancements.
  • Own specific transportation technology products or vendor tools (MercuryGate / MercuryEdge) platforms and related TMS systems (e.g., McLeod, TMW).
  • Support Power Automate, DOMO, and internal system tools to improve workflow efficiency and reporting.
  • Perform planning, system testing, and troubleshooting in a constantly evolving operational environment.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance and optimize system performance, integrations, and product functionality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong technical understanding of brokerage operations, pricing structures, and transportation systems.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, EDI, and system integrations, with the ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Ability to analyze, manipulate, and produce operational data for performance tracking and optimization.
  • Intermediate Excel skills for data review, validation, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently plan, test, and execute technical solutions.
  • Ability to manage varying responsibilities in a fast-paced, ever-changing technical and operational environment.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting transportation management systems, brokerage platforms, or logistics technology required.
  • Experience with DOMO dashboards and Power Automate workflows preferred
  • Experience working knowledge of MercuryGate / MercuryEdge or related TMS platforms preferred.

  • Pay Range: $56,147.00-$88,833.00
  • Pay Grade: 9
