Material Handler II
The purpose of the Material Handler position is to move goods from point to point by way of a forklift or other types of lifts within the warehouse or distribution center in order to supply production areas with product or remove finished goods from work areas in order to maintain continual operation and productivity standards for the facility.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all equipment safety policies and procedures when operating the lift
- Stack freight in a methodical and organized manner according to set safety and quality standards
- Plan the efficient movement of freight in timely manner based on layout and volume for assigned work
- Inspecting and operating forklift equipment
- Performs tasks associated with moving goods from point to point
- Supply production areas with product or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area
- Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate issues.
- Sort and process materials as designated
- Pack and fill boxes or pallets in an organized manner according to weight restrictions
- Record, document, and file materials as directed in order to maintain organization and inventory accuracy
- Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Maintain baseline productivity goals on a daily basis
- Provide timely feedback to management on fulfillment issues, inventory discrepancies, or safety issues.
- Operating an RF device
- On time Shipping and Receiving
- Assist with Inventory Control team as needed
- Quality Compliance
- 5S – Standards and Housekeeping
- Cross-training on other warehouse job functions as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to complete forklift training provided by the industry with annual updates and retraining Ability to operate material lifts as directed by a supervisor
- Ability to perform work in a highly organized and color-coded environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work without supervision
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read labels and numbers
- Ability to operate in high-speed and fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions as directed by the supervisorEducation and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- 2 to 3 years of warehouse experience, required
- Prior forklift operation experience, required
- Leadership experience, a plus
- WMS or RF Unit system experience, a plus
