VP, Contract Logistics Sales
The purpose of the VP, Contract Logistics sales role is to provide leadership, direction, and management of the regional contract sales team. The VP, Contract Logistics Sales is accountable for achieving defined regional sales goals in support of the overall growth targets established by Covenant’s strategic growth plan. Additionally, the VP, Contract Logistics Sales is responsible for hiring, training, and developing his / her team of sales executives to attain their individual sales goals.
Responsibilities:
- Aligns the Regional sales organization’s objectives with firm business strategy through active participation in sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
- Provides input and development with effective sales organization design, including sales job roles, sales channel design, and sales resource deployment.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
- Participates in establishing performance metrics and managing the assigned sales organization’s performance through the sales management system. This includes managing performance through the critical performance measures; ensure the equitable allocation of organization objectives for sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales associates are held accountable for assigned results.
- Provides leadership to the regional sales organization’s team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
- Accountable for the assigned sales market budget. Continuously assessing and offering feedback on existing sales organization support investments, including those in technology, training, and administrative support. Ensures support investments yield productivity benefits consistent with established objectives.
- Advocates sales organization change initiatives by working with SVP Sales and Marketing continuously assessing the need for organizational change, advocating change initiatives, and working within constructive plan developed for organizational change.
- Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospects.
- Participate in all meetings and calls with the customer.
- Ensure business reviews occur at a regular cadence.
- Actively participate in identifying and resolving customer business problems as they arise.

Requirements:
- Outstanding leadership and management skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects occurring simultaneously, multi-tasking, sense of urgency for goal achievement, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of company key clients and their position in the industry.
- Desire to expand the company with new sales, clients, and territories.
- Ability to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions.
- Advanced motivational and negotiation skills, with ability to follow-through on client commitments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
- Extensive knowledge of transportation and supply chain solutions
- Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management or similar field required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- Minimum 7-10 years of related experience required.
- At least 3-5 years in a management position within a Corporate Office setting required.

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $119,411.66-$202,999.83
Pay Grade: 15
